An Oceanfront Fashion Affair x Hawai’i Fashion Month

Oct29

For those of you that are unaware, November is the official Hawai’i Fashion Month (HFM), a community-driven initiative of the Hawaii Fashion Incubator (Hifi) and the State of Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism. HFM includes a month-long calendar of events intended to promote all aspects of Hawaii’s fashion industry, to raise awareness of Hawai’i as a unique, creative and competitive fashion destination while bringing sustainable growth to the industry that comprises design, manufacturing, retail, art, education and more, thus promoting locally made fashion products and services that help to raise awareness and showcase our ongoing commitment to “Buy Aloha, Give Local.”

Collections of Waikiki is proud to be a partner with Hawai’i Fashion Month, and as such, we would like to present: An Oceanfront Fashion Affair, two fashion show events on Wednesday, November 5th.

Think about it…Where else can you witness a premier fashion show on prime beach front real estate, with Diamond Head as a backdrop? The majority of the looks and styles will feature local designers or products. We hope to see you there!

The event is open to the public, and is free of charge. See the below for details.

San Lorenzo Mother & Keiki Mother’s Day sale~

May09

In honor of Mother’s Day this weekend, San Lorenzo Mother & Keiki will be hosting a huge blow-out sale at their store in the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani.

Historically, San Lorenzo holds this type of sale only once a year, and they, being the popular brand they are, attract quite the crowd. And with announced sale prices like: up to 50% off bikinis,” you can be sure there will be some fantastic deals to scoop!

Bubbies ice cream?

Apr14

I walked by Lawson Station at the Sheraton Waikiki the other day, and much to my delight, I discovered that they had just started carrying Bubbies mochi ice cream there. For those of you who don’t know, Bubbies is a local ice cream store known for their home made creamy ice cream flavors, but mostly for their numerous flavors of mochi ice cream.

Mochi is a chewy delicacy made from pounded rice, which at first really sounds like a terrible complement to ice cream, but I ask you to hold off on any judgements until you try one.

Furthermore, the mochi outside actually make these bite-sized bits easier to hold and eat.

Lawson Station…stepping it up.

Christmas at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani

Dec10

Throughout the year, the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani hotel hosts numerous artists, cultural experts, Hawaiian woodworkers and more in their lobby. Every holiday season though, guests are treated to an especially grand display — something that brings in people from all over Waikiki and Oahu, and even attracts the attention of national media.

This is the annual Gingerbread Town(City? Megalopolis?) that Hotel Executive Chef Ralf Bauer and his team assemble every year. This impressive display spans more than 25 feet wide, and showcases replicas of prominent Hawaiian buildings, as well as other buildings from around the world.
